Trade and Investment : Minister Of Trade and Investment Flags Off Nationwide Tour of Free Zones With a Vist to Tinapa

The recently appointed Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga on Saturday, 13th August, 2011 embarked on a visit to the Tinapa Free Zone and Resort in commencement of his nationwide tour of Free Zones in the country.

He was received upon arrival by members of the Tinapa Management led by the Managing Director, Arch. Bassey Ndem who thereafter conducted the Minister and his entourage on an extensive tour of Tinapa facilities.

At a Media parley after the tour, the Minister explained that his visit to the Resort was part of his official tour of all Free Trade Zones in the country with a view to assessing the progress so far made in the implementation of the Federal Government’s Free Zone policies. He reiterated his Ministry’s intention to follow up with measures that would enhance the performance and productivity of Free Zones as well as ensure their contribution to national development.


He highlighted his Ministry’s intention to work closely with the Tinapa Management as well as the Cross River State Government, promoters of the Project, to realise the objective of making Tinapa a destination of choice and the trading hub of West and Central Africa.

In his vote of thanks, the Managing Director of Tinapa praised Tenants in the Zone for their courage and perseverance. He urged potential Tenants and Investors who are still sitting on the fence, to make the bold and foresighted decision of setting up in Tinapa.
