The newly posted Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) of the Nigeria Customs Service in charge of the Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Free Zones command, Mr Ibrahim Abdulateef has on Tuesday 20th June 2011, paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director and CEO of Tinapa, Arch. Bassey Ndem.

Receiving the CAC and his entourage in his office, Arch. Ndem expressed delight at the maiden visit of the CAC and disclosed that the Zone Management enjoys a cordial working relationship with officers and men of the NCS stationed in the zone. He went further to hint that the Management of Tinapa views the Nigeria Customs as facilitators of Trade and partners in progress rather than aggressive adversaries and pledged to continue to give her maximum cooperation to the NCS team in the zone.

Responding, the Customs Area Comptroller, Mr Ibrahim Abdulateef, thanked the Tinapa MD for his warm reception despite the short notice and explained that his visit was aimed at acquainting himself with the workings of the zone. He added that although he had visited and in fact served in several Free Trade Zones, Tinapa was somewhat different, being the only tourism and retail based Free Zone in Nigeria.

He assured the MD that his team will do all that they can to foster the existing good working relationship between both organizations for the benefit of the Government and good people of Nigeria.

The highlight of the visit was a guided tour of facilities at the Resort by the MD of Tinapa who later hosted his guests at the recently revamped Tinapa Lakeside Hotel.
